Transport Guide
You need to get from A to B, but where do you start?
It can be so hard trying to find out what public or community transport is out there and so this guide should help.
This is not say it is completely comprehensive or that everything has been captured.
The purpose of the guide is to let residents know what exists and not that any company or their services are endorsed.
Hopefully having the telephone and website information all in one place will make it a lot easier to find out what you are looking for.
Veterans, Addiction & Mesothelioma
Did you know about 11% of veterans have issues with addiction? Many veterans often suffer from multiple chronic disorders that cause intense pain. Veterans of combat are also likely to experience PTSD and/or depression. Both factors significantly increase veterans' risk of addiction, also known as a substance abuse disorder. In addition to the negative health consequences of addiction, societal problems like homelessness, criminal justice involvement, and unemployment are other potential effects.
Sadly, addiction isn't the only factor that is killing our nations heroes. Of the 3,000 people who are diagnosed with mesothelioma every year, 30% of them are our veterans. A deadly cancer diagnoses alongside an addiction problem affects everything- from the initial prognosis to the treatment options. For veterans who are recovering addicts, receiving a mesothelioma diagnosis could cause a relapse in their work towards sobriety.
It's important for veterans to know they're not alone. Whether our veterans are struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or having a hard time coping with their cancer diagnosis, there is counseling and medical treatment available to them.
