Consultation
Responsibility for the NDP lies with the Parish Council, which has a duty to act in the best interests of the Parish. To fulfil this duty the Parish Council follows the protocol defined in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the guidelines provided by the Locality organisation. These define a clear pathway of processes to prepare an NDP which involves the following stages:
- Community Involvement
- Stakeholder Consultation
- A formal 6-week public consultation of the draft NDP
- Independent Examination
- Referendum of the community on the final NDP
